Horror Haven Updates – August 2017

Hey Gang,

So first off, don’t forget the new Creature Double Feature Roundup 4 will be on September 23rd, 2017 at the Ezekiel Bates Lodge in Attelboro, MA!  Horror Haven’s own Uncle Death will be hosting the event!!  More info can be found at the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/719526338225609/

Also, as you can tell we have been slavishly working to recover our lost posts here at the website!!  A lot of the old ones that we were able to recover have been archived, so as not to confuse it with new news.  Also, we have been constantly adding other posts from the past including Ed’s Monsters & Memories, and Then Is Now Blog.  So keep an eye as the site continues to evolve.  And yes, you’ll find some errors and broken links, but we are working feverishly to fix all of them!

And finally, we have several new podcasts that we are just DYING to unveil!!  New episodes of Then Is Now Podcast, and three more including The East Meets The West, Questionable, and a podcast version of our Cinema Enigmatico Blog!!!  Stay tuned for further details on those as they should be coming relatively soon!

That’s all for now, folks!  Enjoy the Summer!

Ed’s Monsters & Memories 22: Godzilla Kaiju Battle 5 Special Report‏

Oh, the carnage, Groovy Ghoulies! This past week, Godzilla made his annual trek to Schenectady, NY to roar, bite, stomp, and cause major havoc as part of the annual Godzilla Kaiju Battle at Proctor’s GE Theater. This is always a fun night presented by It Came From Schenectady. They celebrate all the fun cult, genre, and just way out there films that you love! You are always guaranteed a good time when you go. This year’s Kaiju battle featured 2 of the more recent Godzilla films, “Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla” and “Godzilla vs. Megaguirus.

All New! All Different!

Greetings all!!!  After a long hiatus, and a difficult time restoring our posts and pages, Horror Haven is on the mend!  As you can see we are re-branding from The Fright Channel to Fright Channel Productions, since many have taken our idea of an all-horror TV channel and done it in several markets. Bear with us during website renovations (but not the inside out Bear from 1978’s The Prophecy!! NO!!!).

However, the new, improved TFC Productions website will produce reviews, podcasts, videos and more!  While we will still be Horror-centric, we’ll also focus on Pop Culture of interest to Monster Kids and that era, as well as exposing the next generations to all the cool stuff they missed out on!

Keep an eye out (but in it’s socket) for Cinema Enigmatico reviews, Then Is Now Podcast, The East Meets the West Podcast, Questionable Podcast, Special Videos, and the return of the History of Boston TV Horror and Creature Double Feature!!

Plus, the anticipated return of horror hosts Uncle Death and Re-Gor!!

Anyway, sit tight as we continue to tweak the website and put out fresh content (as well as some moldy, day-old stuff)!!

This Saturday is the Creature Double Feature Round Up part Duex, a celebration of one of our favorite TV shows.  Come down and join us this Saturday at 5PM  and for the few people out there who do not know what Creature Double Feature is, this video will fill you in (Click on the link below).  Enjoy and maybe we’ll see you on Saturday.

Giant-Size Monsters & Memories: Karloff Double Feature Edition by Ed Davis

He cannot be contained, Groovy Ghoulies! The sheer strength of Boris Karloff on the screen was huge in 1932, and he appeared in two very different films. I thought it would be fun to throw them together and see what came out the other side. Fans were treated to The Old Dark House and The Mummy. Boris was able to play really two different characters at the opposite ends of the spectrum.  Savagery vs. Smarts, which side would win?
